I love their philosophy of "smart luxury" or whatever term they used. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were quite large and comfortable by typical London standards, the wifi was free and worked well to take a few work calls, and the lounge area was welcoming and cool. Despite being very busy, it was not too loud, albeit this was a mid week stay. I particularly liked the "galley" concept they had on each floor with free coffee and tea rather than take up space in every room with a kettle and coffee machine. Much more sustainable! Oh and the bar makes interesting delicious cocktails -- not your typical stuffy boring hotel bar. Location is fantastic -- 3 minutes walking from Waterloo train / underground station, about 20 minutes walking to cross the Thames into Covent Garden, and the Lower Marsh market outside during the day with interesting street food options was an unexpected bonus. The only minor thing missing for me was a fitness center in the hotel, or better yet an agreement with a nearby gym for guests to use while staying there. I would definitely stay at the Ruby Lucy again!

We stayed here because it was close to South Bank and The Royal Festival Hall. We were in London for our son!s graduation. We were able to walk to the Royal Festival Hall where this event was held. We had a great day and afterwards we enjoyed street food out in Lower Marsh and that evening got a handy tube from Waterloo to Leicester Square to see The Mousetrap at St Martin’s Theatre. We also walked across Waterloo Bridge past Whitehall up to Horse Guards round St James’s Park up The Mall to Buckingham Palace and back across Westminster Bridge The Hiuses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and back to Ruby Lucy Hotel. Just 15000 steps!! Amazing location to stay! Highly recommended!! We will stay here again. Very friendly low key yet everything you need. Staff are lovely. Genuinely friendly and cocktail list and lunch menu really good. Not overly expensive for location. Definitely recommend!!

First, this is a great hotel and the staff are excellent! The rooms are small but comfortable. The bed was also very comfortable. Depending on the side of the hotel, your view outside will vary. We got to look at the back of Waterloo Station which wasn't the most scenic but that wasn't why we picked the hotel either. The location is excellent and we walked everywhere from the hotel. Waterloo Station is also less than 5 minutes away so if you prefer the train it is easily accessible. The sitting area was great. The bar was also excellent. You'll feel like you are in a very fancy living room with jazzy music playing in the background. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance (highly recommend Rosa's Thai- that place is sensational!)

The rooms were very clean and comfortable - bigger than expected and had everything I needed for a one night stay. Staff on arrival and check-out were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It was great knowing that the bar was 24 hours meaning someone would always be available to speak to. I also really appreciated that they explicitly did not try to upsell breakfast at check-in, and instead recommended trying out other local options. I would not hesitate to stay again as the value for money (relative to other London properties) and comfort was great. I have paid much more for far worse accommodation in London so Ruby Lucy was a great find.

Location is superb, five minutes walk from the tube station. Lots of shops, cafes etc close by. Also close to the Old Vic and Royal festival hall. We walked into Leicester square, passing the London eye on the way. We didn't need to use the tube at all until we headed back to Cockfosters where we had parked our car for the weekend. Lovely little bar area with great atmosphere. Rooms very comfortable and quiet.
